June 2012

Hello fellow anglers, The summer is here and despite some stormy weather and extremely high tides the fishing has been great. The trout bite has been where its at with good numbers as well as big fish. Live bait has been working best but the early morning topwater and plastics have been doing good as well. You can count on live shrimp or mud minnows under a popping cork to do the trick.
The reds are spread out and eating just about anything in their path. The popping cork along structure is working as well as throwing gulp baits. We had alot of fun walking the flats despite tides that held to much water. Lots of fish caught throwing DOAs.
The harbor is full of bluefish right now which is a great option for children looking to catch alot of fish fast. We've been throwing spoons and gotcha plugs at them and catching a few spanish in the mix as well.
The harbor and jetties have been working for the big bull reds fishing with live menhaden on the bottom. You can count on catching a number of different species of sharks as well while your out there.
The nearshore reefs are a great option if your interested in catching alot of different species at once. The spade fish are showing up as well as weakfish, black seabass, drum, spanish, sheepshead and more . Don't rule out a cobia while your out there as well.
Feel free to call or e-mail with any questions or comments. Thanks, See you out there.
